Esoteric Lore the Women's Artist Collective went from Spelman College Women's Research and Resource Center to Auburn Ave Research Library within a year of hustlin the exhibit. In the lastest exhibition at Auburn Ave Research Library in Atlanta Ga, Esoteric Lore has expanded from 4 women artists to 8. Esoteric Lore is a woman artist collective that my friends and I created check out the info below for our first exhibit.

Esoteric Lore is a movement that is rooted in counteracting the stereotypical images of black womanhood. As artists, the women of this collective feel the responsibility to harness the power inherent in visual mediums and use it for the elevation of the human experience. Stories that have been silenced and marginalized still hold significant power and are celebrated through the art of visual storytelling. As an evolving movement, Esoteric Lore is progressively seeking opportunities to reach out and ignite innovation.

I first discovered Ethereal as one half of a rap duo called "NWK" (New Ways of Komprehension) but then later i found out he is a producer. Ethereal produced one of the dopest joints on Aware's "Please stand by"ep. Look Aware up seriously he's one of the illest mc's coming out of Atlanta, Ga in my opinion. But yea so recently Ethereal hooked me up with a link to his bandcamp page and his music it's totally my vibe, It's experimental, trip hop, and instrumentalism all wrapped up into a supernatural experience . Man this show was so bomb i cant believe i almost didn't attend.My friends know i'm a hip hop head so they weren't gonna let me miss this show.It started off with a dope Mc battle.Some guys really tore it up but something was missing, Me up there spitting hot fiya ,the stage was missin that female energy to represent.I wish i would have known earlier maybe i would have done it.Every mc just freestyled about the different images they were given.Their were a couple of things that made this night perfect first of all it was a FREE Hip Hop show, 2. alot of my good friends were there and 3. i got to see Talib Kweli rip the microphone for freee!!!!Talib performed new stuff and well as sum classics.It was just such a great night i wish you were there.Here are some pics and vidsss if you misssed out

I’ve lost some but I’ve gained a lot more. I’ve remained productive through the good and bad times. The act of creating heals my soul. July 9, 2009, Art Nouveau Magazine will open a portal at the Wm Turner Gallery where imagination meets mechanism.

“Extraordinary Machine” will explore identity, sexuality, culture and societal relationships

“Extraordinary Machine,” an art show featuring works by two radical visionaries, Kendrick Daye and Corinne Stevie Francilus, will open with a wine reception beginning promptly at 6p.m. The show will run through July 18th.

All artwork and merchandise will be available for purchase, a percentage from the work sold will be donated to a non-profit organization that is dedicated to the enrichment of social and cultural experiences in the metropolitan communities of Atlanta.

So what have I been up 2? Well after taking a short summer break from SCAD I decided to get away from the A and go home( Miami,FL) to be with the fam and rejuvenate myself. I spent about a good week there.I ate some of my momma's cooking the whole time i neva left the kitchen lol except for when i went to the studio with my homie Jean aka my producer friend Brother to Brother( he's the kat that produced Strawberry field's in the sky).I was grateful to be around my family, ahhhh the simple life :-).My younger bro put me up on some awesome music, classic stuff like donny ,the supremes and todd rundgren.We also watched old beatles and supreme performances together on his kool ipod.As for my other bro's i stole some beats from them and i finally snatched up the latest drake tracks and threw it on my external harddrive for the trip back.I cant forget going to the Musuem,I saw some amazing stuff and i almost took a pic of a basquiat but the security prolly would've kicked me out lol.I didnt want to leave My sweet home but i had to come back and get back to work.

New Work...Collage piece and the process

The assignment was to choose one of my artists’ cards and expand on the idea on an 11x 14 support. I used the same colors and image for the larger piece. The themes of my artist cards are portraits and the way I can distort them. First I printed out multiple images of the same portrait. Then I prepared my illustration board with house paint. Once I was done with that I began to collage different papers to the board. Another requirement for the assignment was to use a transfer technique. I decided to use the nail polish remover technique where you take the image you've printed, face it down and rub the nail polish on it. I assumed that this technique would work like the transfer marker method but it didn't work. When I applied the nail polish remover it just ruined the paper with the image I was trying to transfer. So then I just decided that I would only collage my images.

I used mat medium to paste down all the images and papers down on to the board. Then I began painting in layers and building up the image with different materials like house paint, acrylic, and ballpoint pen. I layered the piece with different mark marking techniques until I was satisfied. To complete the piece I painted a border to enclose the image.

Last Weekend was fun filled.So it all started with Thursday nite I had to perform at The THink NEw Show at the bench so i decided to buy a pair of shoes to paint on for the show. Friday was the "Eye Candy" art show and that was a huge success!!! The turn out was amazing! Finally the Ink Blot Festival was on saturday and i must say that show was amazing tons of talented people and the good energy was high.So here are a couple snapshots to sum it all up.All the photos were taken by the Great E!I love you!Shouts out to Mahdi for buying my piece

I recently began working on these russian nesting dolls.The theme that i decided to go with is called little street boyz.The little series consist of a skater which is the larger doll,a rapper,and a graffiti boy.I'm still working on the last to pieces which is going to be a microphone and a spray can. So the listening party is coming real soon,matter of fact March 20,2009.It's going to be held at the bench and i'm just finishing up the cd packing(it's a combination of print and paint) i was going for an old record feel.I also got a alot of things coming up real soon more footage for the battleship track by timeshare.I recently did a mini interview with director/visual artist Israel Aten and i got the actual video to premire so stay tuned!!!!!

"A Day in the life"

So recently i released the single "A Day in the life" from my latest project called "Strawberry Fields in the Sky".This project is a collaboration between me and a miami based producer Brother to Brother.The album is a homage to the beatles with a hip hop twist.I'm spittin rhymes over experimental sample beats.I also performed a couple of the tracks at my show dedicated to the album.The show was dope,Tendaberry(post-punk rock group),Spree Wilson, Richelle L Brown(new artist on Nouveau music) and Kumi Hues performed.The highlight of it all were my brothers coming up from miami to support me.I love them boys and everybody who came to gether to make things happen.The Art Nouveau is the Sh*T!so yea If you havent had the chance to hear the single here's a link http://www. zshare. net/audio/5567566432fa2c27/

My Lastest poster design & more

So recently i had an assignment create a poster for an old italian neorealist film,directed by Federicp Fellini called "La Strada" which means the road. The movie is a drama about a naive young girl (played by Fellini's wife, Giulietta Masina) who is sold to a brutish man in a coastal town in Italy.

These are the concepts i came up with.tell me if you can figure out what i did to create it
